Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences Regulation 2024
Part 1 Preliminary
1 Name of regulation This regulation is the Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences Regulation 2024.
2 Commencement This regulation commences on the day on which it is published on the NSW legislation website.
Note— This regulation repeals and replaces the Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences Regulation 2017, which would otherwise be repealed on 1 September 2024 by the Subordinate Legislation Act 1989, section 10(2).
3 Definitions In this regulation— Chief Executive means the person employed in the Public Service as the Chief Executive of the Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences. President means the President of the Trustees of the Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences nominated under the Act, section 8(1). the Act means the Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences Act 1945.
Note— The Act and the Interpretation Act 1987 contain definitions and other provisions that affect the interpretation and application of this regulation.
Part 2 Proceedings of trustees—the Act, ss 9(1) and 18(1)(b)
4 Ordinary meetings An ordinary meeting may be called by— (a) the President, or (b) if the President agrees—a trustee.
5 Special meetings A special meeting may be called— (a) by the President, or (b) at the request of at least 3 trustees, or (c) by the Chief Executive.
6 Notice of meetings The trustees must be given at least 3 days notice of the following— (a) the day, time and place of the following— (i) an ordinary meeting, (ii) a special meeting, (iii) an adjourned meeting under section 7, (b) the business proposed to be considered at the meeting.
7 Adjourned meetings (1) If the quorum for an ordinary meeting or special meeting is not present within 15 minutes after the time of the meeting, the meeting must be adjourned to a day determined by the trustee or trustees present. (2) If no trustees are present within 15 minutes after the time of the meeting, the business of the meeting stands adjourned until the next meeting.
