Preamble. HEREAS by an Act passed in the forty-sccond year of the reign of Iler present Majesty the 'City of Goulburn Gas and Coke Company (Limited)" was established and incorporated as a joint stock company and under and subject to the rules regulations restrictions and provisions contained in the said Act and in a certain deed of settlement bearing date the first day of July one thousand cight hundred and seventy-cight and purporting to be the deed of settlement of the said Company and by the said Act and deed of settlement the capital of the said Company was limited to ten thousand pounds And whereas by reason of the increase of the operations of the said Company and the growth of the said City of Goulburn such capital is insuwflicient and the said Company at a meeting of the share- holders duly convened and held on the twenty-ninth day of January one thousand cight hundred and cighty-four passed a resolution that it was desirable to increase the capital of the said Company to fifty housand

thousand pounds Be it therefore enacted by the Queen's Most Execllent Majesty by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly of New South Wales in Parliament assembled and by "the author ity of the same as follows :-—

1. It shall be lawful for the said Company to raise and con- In:rease of capital. tribute among themselves or otherwise as the said Company shall determine any further sum or sums of money by way of capital or joint stock not excccding in the whole the sum of fifty thousand pounds by the issue of new shares of one pound each in like manner as is directed in the said recited Act and deed of scttlement.
