HEREAS by a certain grant from the Crown, under the hand
and seal of Sir Hercules George Robert Robinson, Governor
and Commander-in-Chief of the Colony of New South Wales, bearing date the twentieth day of September, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-eight, the land described in the Schedule hereto, being situate in the Parish of Saint Phillip, in the City of Sydney, was granted unto the Most Reverend Roger Bede Vaughan, and John Felix Sheridan, Peter Young, Thomas Cooper Makinson, John Bridge, and Michacl Landers, and their heirs, upon trust as a site fora Roman Catholic Church and presbytery. And whereas it is expedient that the said land should be sold, and that the proceeds to arise from such sale should be applied in or towards the purchase of another site for a Roman Catholic Church and presbytery in the said parish and the erection of such church and presbytery or church only within the parish aforesaid. Be it therefore enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legisla- tive Council and Legislative Assembly of New South W: ales in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows :—
