Public Health (Infection Control for Personal Appearance Services) Regulation 2016
1 Short title This regulation may be cited as the Public Health (Infection Control for Personal Appearance Services) Regulation 2016.
2 Commencement This regulation commences on 1 September 2016.
3 Higher risk personal appearance service— Act , s 14 (e) For section 14(e) of the Act, tattoo removal is prescribed as a higher risk personal appearance service.
4 Infection control competency standard (1) For schedule 2 of the Act, definition infection control qualification, the infection control competency standard is attainment of the competency called 'HLTINF005—Maintain infection prevention for skin penetration treatments', approved by the Australian Industry and Skills Committee. (2) The competency mentioned in subsection (1) is taken to include the competency by its former titles— (a) 'HLTIN2A—Maintain Infection Control Standards in Office Practice Settings'; and (b) 'HLTIN402B—Maintain Infection Control Standards in Office Practice Settings'; and (c) 'HLTIN402C—Maintain Infection Control Standards in Office Practice Settings'. (3) In this section— Australian Industry and Skills Committee means the committee established by the Council of Australian Governments' Industry and Skills Council in May 2015.
