Part 1 Preliminary
1 Short title This management plan may be cited as the Wet Tropics Management Plan 1998.
2 Commencement This plan commences on 1 September 1998.
3 Definitions and dictionary The dictionary in schedule 3 defines particular words used in this plan.
3A Meaning of rainforest area (1) A rainforest area is an area of land shown on the regional ecosystem map and designated by a regional ecosystem number mentioned in schedule 2B. (2) However, to the extent that the area of land is shown on a property map of assessable vegetation and is designated by a regional ecosystem number that is not mentioned in schedule 2B, the area is not a rainforest area. (3) In this section— property map of assessable vegetation see the Vegetation Management Act 1999, section 20AK. regional ecosystem map means the map, kept by the Queensland Herbarium, that shows the locations of the regional ecosystems described in the regional ecosystem description database. Note— The regional ecosystem map is available on the Queensland Government website.
4 Publication and inspection of zoning map and other documents (1) This section applies in relation to— (a) the zoning map; or (b) another document, if the authority is required under a provision of this plan to ensure the document is available for inspection under this section. (2) The authority must ensure— (a) the zoning map or other document— (i) is published on the authority's website; and (ii) may be inspected free of charge, during office hours at the authority's head office and any other places the authority considers appropriate; and (b) a copy of the zoning map, or a part of the zoning map, or the other document may be purchased from the authority for a reasonable fee.
