This Act may be cited as the Willows Sports Complex Act 1993. Definitions Clause2. In this Act— "Corporation" means the Racing Development Corporation; "develop" includes construct, reconstruct, improve, repair and replace; "local authorities" means the Council of the City of Thuringowa and the Council of the City of Townsville; "site" means the land described as Lot 2 on RP 740697 and situated in the county of Elphinstone parish of Coonambelah. Corporation may lease site Clause3.(1) The Corporation may grant a lease of the site for the purpose of enabling a sports and recreation complex to be developed and managed on the site. (2) The lease may be granted for the period, and subject to the conditions, that the Corporation considers appropriate. (3) This section has effect despite section 126A of the Racing and Betting Act 1980. Tenders not required Clduf&) This section applies if— (a) the local authorities are constituted as a Joint Local Authority Board under the Local Government Act 1936 and the Corporation grants a lease of the site to the Board for the purpose mentioned in section 3(1); or w BESO COM NIN DWN ee 1417 19 21 2325 Willows Sports Complex (b) the Corporation grants a lease of the site to 1 of the local 1 authorities for the purpose mentioned in section 3(1). 2 (2) Section 19(4) of the Local Government Act 1936 does not apply, to 3 the extent prescribed by regulation, to agreements made by the Joint Local 4 Authority Board or the local authority for the development of the sports and 5 recreation complex. 6 Regulations 7 Clause5. The Governor in Council may make regulations for the purposes 8 of this Act. 9 Expiry of Act 10 Clause6. This Act expires 2 years after its commencement. 11 © State of Queensland 1993
