Prisoners International Transfer (Queensland) Bill

The Parliament of Queensland enacts—

PART 1—PRELIMINARY

Short title

1. This Act may be cited as the Prisoners International Transfer (Queensland) Act 1997.

Commencement

2. This Act commences on a day to be fixed by proclamation.

Object of Act

3. The object of this Act is to give effect to the scheme for the international transfer of prisoners set out in the Commonwealth Act by enabling prisoners to be transferred to and from this jurisdiction under the scheme.

State bound 4. This Act binds the State.
