The Parliament of Queensland enacts—
Short title
Clause 1. This Act may be cited as the Freedom of Information Amendment Act 1998.
Act amended Clause 2. This Act amends the Freedom of Information Act 1992.
Amendment of s 36 (Cabinet matter) Clause 3.(1) Section 36(2)— omit, insert— "(2) Subsection (1) does not apply to— (a) matter officially published by decision of Cabinet; or
(b) matter about expenses incurred, or claimed to be incurred, by a Minister or a person assisting a Minister; or
(c) matter, if action taken in relation to the matter, that would make it exempt matter if this paragraph did not apply, was taken predominantly for the purpose of making it exempt matter.'.
(2) Section 36(4), definition "submit", 'the purpose of submitting the matter to Cabinet,'—
omit.
Amendment of s 37 (Executive Council matter) Clause 4.(1) Section 37(2)— omit, insert— "(2) Subsection (1) does not apply to— (a) matter officially published by decision of the Governor in 11 13 1518 2123 s4 5 s4 Freedom of Information Amendment
Council; or
(b) matter about expenses incurred, or claimed to be incurred, by a Minister or a person assisting a Minister; or
(c) matter, if action taken in relation to the matter, that would make it exempt matter if this paragraph did not apply, was taken predominantly for the purpose of making it exempt matter.'.
(2) Section 37(4), definition "submit", 'the purpose of submitting the matter to Executive Council,'—
