The Parliament of Queensland enacts—

Short title

1. This Act may be cited as the South Bank Corporation Amendment Act 1999.

Act amended 2. This Act amends the South Bank Corporation Act 1989.

Amendment of s 23 (Powers in relation to land) 3. Section 23(7), definition "commercial precinct"— omit, insert—

" "commercial precinct" means generally the area of land in the name of

the corporation bounded by Vulture Street, the railway line, and the areas known as Glenelg Street, Little Stanley Street, Tribune Street and Grey Street.'.

Insertion of new s 40 4. After section 39M— insert— "Amendment of approved development plan

"40.(1) This section amends the approved development plan and has effect as if it were an amendment of the plan approved by the Governor in Council under section 21.

(2) Approved development plan, section 4.1, at the end, as a new paragraph—

insert—

'The intent of this precinct is also to provide for a pedestrian and cycle bridge across the Brisbane River.'. 1113 1517 1922 25

"(3) Approved development plan, table 4.2, Preferred Development—

insert— 'Pedestrian and Cycle Bridge across the Brisbane River'.

"(4) Approved development plan, section 6.1, at the end, as a new paragraph—

insert—

'The intent of this precinct is also to allow occupation and use for works

approved by the State Development (South Bank Pedestrian and Cycle Bridge) Regulation 1999.'.

"(5) This section expires on 31 December 2002.'.
