The Parliament of Queensland enacts—
1 Short title This Act may be cited as the Land Sales Amendment Act 2001.
2 Act amended This Act amends the Land Sales Act 1984.
3 Insertion of new s 28 After section 27— insert—
'28 Extension of period mentioned in s 27 for giving of registrable instrument
'(1) A regulation may prescribe, for a proposed lot, a period of more than 3'/5 years but not more than 4'/, years.
'(2) For the application of section 27 to a purchase of the proposed lot, entered upon after the commencement of this section, the period of 31/5 years mentioned in section 27(1)(b) is taken to be the period prescribed
under subsection (1).
'(3) However, subsection (2) applies only if the vendor or the vendor's agent gave to the purchaser, before the purchaser entered upon the purchase of the proposed lot, notice in the approved form stating the period prescribed under subsection (1).'.
