An Act to amend the Corrective Services Act 2000

Corrective Services Amendment Bill 2002

The Parliament of Queensland enacts—

Clause 1 Short title This Act may be cited as the Corrective Services Amendment Act 2002.

Clause 2 Act amended

This Act amends the Corrective Services Act 2000.

Clause 3 Amendment of s 57 (Eligibility for WORC and WCC programs) Section 57(1)(e)— omit, insert— '(e) fora WORC program—

(i) the prisoner has been convicted of an offence against a provision mentioned in schedule 1;! or

(ii) the prisoner has been— (A) convicted of an offence against the Criminal Code2— ° section 328A; or

° section 419(1) and the circumstances mentioned in section 419(3)(b)(iii) or (iv) applied; or

° section 421(2); and

(B) the conviction is, under the Penalties and Sentences Act 1992, section 161A, a conviction of a serious violent offence.'.

Clause 4 Amendment of sch 1 (Ineligibility offences) (1) Schedule 1, entries for sections 328A, 419(3)(b) and 421(2)—
