The Parliament of Queensland enacts—

1 Short title

This Act may be cited as the Racing (Race Fields) Amendment Act 2006.

2 Commencement

This Act commences on a day to be fixed by proclamation.

3 Act amended

This Act amends the Racing Act 2002.

4 Insertion of new ss 326A

Chapter 8, part 1, division 5, before section 327—

insert—

'326A Restrictions on publication of race fields

A betting service provider must not, in the State or elsewhere, publish, or otherwise make available, a race field for a race in the course of business without the approval of the control body under the control of which the race is to be held.

Maximum penalty—80 penalty units. Subsection (1) does not apply to the following— (a) arace wagering licensee;

(b) aracing bookmaker.

In this section—

betting contract means a contract, arrangement or understanding to—

(a) make a bet or wager; or

(b) enter into, or take a share or interest in, another transaction that involves a bet or wager.

betting exchange means a facility of any type through which—

(a) offers to enter into betting contracts are regularly made or accepted; or

(b) offers or invitations to enter into betting contracts are regularly made that are intended to result, or may reasonably be expected to result, directly or indirectly, in the acceptance of the offers or invitations.
