The Parliament of Queensland enacts—

Short title
This Act may be cited as the Coroners (Reporting Arrangements) Amendment Act 2007.
Act amended
This Act amends the Coroners Act 2003.
Insertion of new s 47A
After section 47—
insert—

This section applies if—
(a) under section 46(2)(d)(ii), a coroner gives a written copy of the coroner's comments (the relevant document), made in relation to a death investigated at an inquest, to the chief executive officer of a government entity; or
(b) under section 47(2)(b), a coroner gives a written copy of the coroner's findings and comments (also the relevant document), made in relation to the investigation of a death in care or death in custody, to the appropriate chief executive.
The chief executive officer or chief executive must, within 48 hours after receiving the relevant document, give the coroner a written notice acknowledging receipt of the document.
Also, the chief executive officer or chief executive must, within 6 months after receiving the relevant document, give the coroner an interim written report stating—
(a) what action the chief executive officer or chief executive has taken in relation to the document; or
