The Parliament of Queensland enacts—
Clause 1 Short title
This Act may be cited as the Criminal Code (Assaults Against
Police and Others) Amendment Act 2007.
Clause 2 Code amended
This Act amends the Criminal Code.

Section 340(2), 'corrective services officer' — omit, insert—
'ambulance officer, corrective services officer or fire service officer'.
Section 340— insert— Subsection (2C) applies if—
(a) a court convicts a person of an offence against subsection (1)(b) or (2); and
(b) the act or omission constituting the offence occurred after the commencement of this subsection.
The court must make an order sentencing the person to a period of imprisonment for the offence that includes a period of detention in custody for a minimum of 3 months, unless the person is released sooner under an exceptional circumstances parole order.'.
Section 340(3)— insert—
'ambulance officer see the Ambulance Service Act 1991, the schedule.
