The Parliament of Queensland enacts—

Short title

This Act may be cited as the Mineral Resources Amendment Act 2008.

Commencement

This Act commences on a day to be fixed by proclamation.

Act amended This Act amends the Mineral Resources Act 1989.

Amendment of s 130 (Exploration permit to specify minerals sought)

Section 130(1)(a), after 'coal'— insert—

'and uranium'.

Amendment of s 137 (Grant of exploration permit) Section 137—

insert—

'(2A) An exploration permit granted under this section does not

authorise an activity carried out for a purpose that includes exploring for uranium.'.

Amendment of s 147A (Decision on application) Section 147A—

insert—
