[s 4] The Parliament of Queensland enacts— 1 1 Short title 2 This Act may be cited as the Carers (Recognition) 3 Amendment Act 2010. 4 2 Commencement 5 This Act commences on a day to be fixed by proclamation. 6 3 Act amended This Act amends the Carers (Recognition) Act 2008. 8 4 Amendment of s 5 (Definitions) 9 Section 5, definition statutory body— 0 omit, insert— 1 'statutory body see the Financial Accountability Act 2009, 2 section 9.'. 3 5 Amendment of s 6 (Meaning of carer) 4 (1) Section 6(2)— 5 renumber as section 6(4). 6 (2) Section 6— 7 insert— 8 '(2) Also, a grandparent is a carer of his or her grandchild if— 9 (a) _ the child lives with the grandparent; and 20

(b) the grandparent is the primary care-giver and 21 decision-maker for the child. 22
