Short title
This Act may be cited as the Referendum for an Upper House Act 2011.

This section applies if the People's House Bill 2011 is passed by the Legislative Assembly.
The following question must be submitted, under the Constitution Act Amendment Act 1934, section 3, to the electors qualified to vote for the election of members of the Legislative Assembly—
'Are you in favour of the People's House Bill 2011?'.
If the polling day for the next election of all councillors of Queensland local governments under the Local Government Act 2009 is a day not sooner than 2 months after the passage of the Bill through the Legislative Assembly, the Minister must recommend to the Governor in Council that the day appointed under the Constitution Act Amendment Act 1934, section 3(3) be the same day.
