The Parliament of Queensland enacts—

Short title

This Act may be cited as the Milk Pricing (Fair Milk Mark) Act 2013.

Commencement

This Act commences on 1 January 2014.

Definitions In this Act—

fair milk price, for milk, means the price for milk set under section 5(2).

fair price milk means milk for which an amount equal to or more than the fair milk price was paid to the dairy farmer who produced it.

Objectives of Act The main objectives of this Act are—

(a) to provide for the setting of a fair price to be paid to dairy farmers for the production of milk to ensure a sustainable dairy industry continues in Queensland; and

(b) to establish a fair milk mark to be placed on containers of milk to indicate to Queensland consumers that a fair price has been paid to the dairy farmer who produced the milk.

Fair milk price (1) There is to be a fair milk price for milk.

(2) The fair milk price for milk is to be set by the Minister by gazette notice. 1215 172022 24 26
