Short title

This Act may be cited as the Queensland Reconstruction Authority Amendment Act 2013.

Act amended

This Act amends the Queensland Reconstruction Authority Act 2011.

Amendment of s 2 (Main purpose of Act) Section 2, from 'to ensure'-—

omit, insert—

'

(a) to ensure Queensland and its communities effectively and efficiently recover from the impacts of disaster events; and

(b) to improve the resilience of communities for potential disaster events.'.

Amendment of s 6 (Meaning of disaster event) Section 6— insert—

'(ba) the storms, tornadoes and floods caused by ex-tropical cyclone Oswald and associated heavy rains in January and February 2013;'.

Amendment of s 10 (Authority's functions) Section 10(1)—

insert— 11 1316 182124

'(i)_ to plan for, coordinate and put in place measures to improve the resilience of communities for potential disaster events.'.

Amendment of s 139 (Expiry) Section 139, '30 June 2014'—

omit, insert— "30 June 2015'.
