Part 1 Preliminary
1 Short title This Act may be cited as the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal and Other Legislation Amendment Act 2019.
2 Commencement This Act commences on a day to be fixed by proclamation.

Division 2 Referees
79A Protection and immunity (1) In performing the functions of referee, a referee has the same protection and immunity as a Supreme Court judge performing a judicial function. (2) A party appearing in an inquiry before a referee has the same protection and immunity as the party would have if the inquiry were a proceeding being heard before the Supreme Court. (3) A witness attending an inquiry before a referee has the same protection and immunity as a witness attending before the Supreme Court. (4) A document produced at, or used for, an inquiry before a referee has the same protection during the inquiry as it would have if produced before the Supreme Court. (5) In this section— inquiry, before a referee, means an inquiry into a question in a proceeding that is referred under the rules to the referee. party includes a party's lawyer or agent. referee means a referee appointed under the rules.
