An Act authorising the Treasurer to pay amounts from the consolidated fund for the Legislative Assembly and parliamentary service for the financial years starting 1 July 2019 and 1 July 2020 The Parliament of Queensland enacts—
1 Short title This Act may be cited as the Appropriation (Parliament) Act 2020. Note— Under the Financial Accountability Act 2009, section 5, words used in this Act that are defined under the Financial Accountability Act 2009 have the same meaning the words have in that Act, subject to a contrary intention in this Act.
2 Supplementary appropriation for 2019–20 based on unforeseen expenditure included in the consolidated fund financial report (1) The Treasurer is authorised to pay $519,000 from the consolidated fund for the Legislative Assembly and parliamentary service for the financial year starting 1 July 2019. (2) The amount mentioned in subsection (1) is appropriated for the financial year for the Legislative Assembly and parliamentary service for application to its departmental services, equity adjustment and administered items as stated in schedule 1.
3 Further supply for 2020–21 (1) The Treasurer is authorised to pay $50,523,500 from the consolidated fund for the Legislative Assembly and parliamentary service for the financial year starting 1 July 2020. (2) The amount mentioned in subsection (1) is in addition to the amount already authorised by the Appropriation (Parliament) Act 2019, section 3, to be paid for the financial year starting 1 July 2020.
