The Parliament of South Australia enacts as follows: Part 1—Preliminary 1—Short title This Act may be cited as the Local Government (Waste Collection) Amendment Act 2023.
Part 2—Amendment of Local Government Act 1999 2—Insertion of section 155A After section 155 insert: 155A—Weight-based rates and charges for waste collection prohibited Despite any other provision of this Chapter, a council must not, in connection with the provision of a regular general kerbside waste collection service, impose a rate or charge for the collection of waste that is based on (or varies according to) the weight of waste collected.
