South Australia River Murray Waters Agreement Supplemental Agreement Act 1963 An Act to ratify and approve an agreement entered into between the Prime Minister of the Commonwealth and the Premiers of the States of New South Wales, Victoria, and South Australia respecting the waters of the Darling River stored at Menindee in the State of New South Wales in the connected series of lake storages collectively known as the Menindee Lake Storage, and for other purposes.

Preamble WHEREAS the Prime Minister of the Commonwealth acting for and on behalf of the Commonwealth and the Premiers of the States of New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia acting for and on behalf of those States respectively have entered into an Agreement (in this Act referred to as the River Murray Waters Agreement Supplemental Agreement) to provide for the maintenance, operation and control of the waters of the Darling River in the connected series of lake storages at Menindee in the State of New South Wales collectively known as and referred to in the said Agreement as the Menindee Lakes Storage and for the availability to and use by the contracting Governments thereof in the manner and for the purposes and during the period set forth in the said Agreement: AND WHEREAS the said Agreement is expressed to be subject to ratification by the Parliaments of the Commonwealth and of the said States: AND WHEREAS it is desirable to ratify the said Agreement:

The Parliament of South Australia enacts as follows: 1—Short title This Act may be cited as the River Murray Waters Agreement Supplemental Agreement Act 1963. 3—Incorporation This Act is incorporated with the River Murray Waters Act 1935. 4—Act to bind the Crown This Act shall bind the Crown. 5—Ratification of Agreement The River Murray Waters Agreement Supplemental Agreement, a copy of which is set out in the Schedule to this Act, is hereby ratified and approved. 6—Financial provision Subject to the provisions of the Agreement all moneys required for the purposes of this Act shall be paid out of moneys provided by Parliament for such purposes.
