The Parliament of South Australia enacts as follows: Part 1—Preliminary 1—Short title This Act may be cited as the Local Government (Elections) (Display and Publication of Valid Nominations) Amendment Act 2023.
Part 2—Amendment of Local Government (Elections) Act 1999 2—Substitution of section 21 Section 21—delete the section and substitute: 21—Display and publication etc of valid nominations (1) The returning officer must, as soon as practicable after the receipt of a valid nomination— (a) cause a copy of the nomination to be displayed in the principal office of the council in respect of which the nomination was made; and (b) publish a copy of the nomination on the Internet. (2) The returning officer must, within 24 hours after the close of nominations— (a) provide a council with a list of all valid nominations relevant to the council's area; and (b) publish a list of all valid nominations on the Internet.
