The Parliament of South Australia enacts as follows:
Part 1—Preliminary
1—Short title
This Act may be cited as the Motor Vehicles (Disability Parking Permit Scheme) Amendment Act 2024.
2—Commencement
This Act comes into operation on a day to be fixed by proclamation.
Part 2—Amendment of Motor Vehicles Act 1959
3—Amendment of heading to Part 3D
Heading to Part 3D—delete "Disabled persons' parking" and substitute:
Disability parking
4—Amendment of section 98R—Application for permit
(1) Section 98R—delete "disabled person's" wherever occurring and substitute in each case:
disability
(2) Section 98R(1)(a) and (3)—delete "disabled person" wherever occurring and substitute in each case:
person with a disability
(3) Section 98R(1)(b)—delete "disabled persons" and substitute:
people with a disability
5—Amendment of section 98S—Duration and renewal of permits
(1) Section 98S(1)—delete "disabled person's" and substitute:
disability
(2) Section 98S(1)(a)—delete "disabled person" and substitute:
person with a disability
(3) Section 98S(1)(a)—delete "physical"
(4) Section 98S—after subsection (2) insert:
(3) In this section—
temporary impairment means an impairment that, in the opinion of the Registrar, is likely to endure for more than 6 months but is not likely to be permanent.
6—Amendment of section 98T—Permit contents, conditions and entitlements
(1) Section 98T—delete "disabled person's" wherever occurring and substitute in each case:

(1) Section 98U—delete "disabled person's" and substitute:
