The Parliament of South Australia enacts as follows: Part 1—Preliminary 1—Short title This Act may be cited as the Freedom of Information (Greyhound Racing) Amendment Act 2024. 2—Commencement This Act comes into operation 6 months after the day on which it is assented to by the Governor.

Part 2—Amendment of Freedom of Information Act 1991 3—Amendment of section 4—Interpretation (1) Section 4(1), definition of agency—after paragraph (fa) insert: (fb) the body prescribed for the purposes of section 6(1)(c) of the Authorised Betting Operations Act 2000 as the racing controlling authority for greyhound racing; or (2) Section 4(1), definition of State government agency—after "council" insert: , an agency referred to in paragraph (fb) of the definition of agency,

Schedule 1—Transitional provision 1—Transitional provision (1) In this clause— principal Act means the Freedom of Information Act 1991. (2) An application may be made to an agency referred to in paragraph (fb) of the definition of agency in section 4(1) of the principal Act (as inserted by this Act) for access to a document whether the document was created, or came into the possession of the agency, before or after the commencement of this Act.
