Part 2—Amendment of Electoral Act 1985 2—Amendment of section 125—Prohibition of canvassing near polling booths (1) Section 125—after subsection (1) insert: (1aa) Without limiting subsection (1), when a polling booth is open for polling, a person must not— (a) at the polling place for which the polling booth is established; or (b) in any place within 100 metres of an entrance to the polling booth, canvass for votes (including by distributing how-to-vote cards), solicit the vote of an elector or induce a person not to vote for a candidate or at the election.
