State Service (Restructuring) Order 2006
I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council and on the recommendation of the Minister, make the following order under section 11 of the State Service Act 2000 .

1. Short title This order may be cited as the State Service (Restructuring) Order 2006 .
2. Commencement This order takes effect on 5 April 2006.
3. Change of name of Department of Police and Public Safety The name of the Government department known as the Department of Police and Public Safety is changed to the Department of Police and Emergency Management.
4. Change of name of Department of Tourism, Parks, Heritage and the Arts The name of the Government department known as the Department of Tourism, Parks, Heritage and the Arts is changed to the Department of Tourism, Arts and the Environment.
5. Amalgamation of Government departments, &c. (1) The Office of Youth Affairs, part of the Department of Education, is amalgamated with the Department of Premier and Cabinet. (2) The Tasmania Fire Service, part of the Department of Health and Human Services, is amalgamated with the Department of Police and Emergency Management. (3) The Environment Division, part of the Department of Primary Industries, Water and Environment, is amalgamated with the Department of Tourism, Arts and the Environment. (4) The Land Use Planning Branch of the Strategic Policy and Planning Division, part of the Department of Primary Industries, Water and Environment, is amalgamated with the Department of Justice. (5) The secretariat supporting the Resource Planning and Development Commission, part of the Department of Primary Industries, Water and Environment, is amalgamated with the Department of Justice. (6) The secretariat supporting the Resource Management and Planning Appeal Tribunal, part of the Department of Primary Industries, Water and Environment, is amalgamated with the Department of Justice. (7) Workplace Standards Tasmania, part of the Department of Infrastructure, Energy and Resources, is amalgamated with the Department of Justice.
