Proclamation under the Nature Conservation Act 2002

I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, by this my proclamation made under sections 11(2) and 17(1) of the Nature Conservation Act 2002 declare –

(a) the area of Crown land specified in Part 1 of Schedule 1 to this proclamation to be reserved land in the class of nature reserve and give the name Calverts Hill Nature Reserve to that reserved land; and (b) the area of Crown land specified in Part 2 of Schedule 1 to this proclamation to be reserved land in the class of State reserve and give the name Ida Bay State Reserve to that reserved land; and (c) the area of Crown land specified in Part 3 of Schedule 1 to this proclamation to be reserved land in the class of nature reserve and give the name Wingaroo Nature Reserve to that reserved land; and (d) the area of Crown land specified in Part 4 of Schedule 1 to this proclamation to be reserved land in the class of national park and give the name Maria Island National Park to that reserved land; and (e) the reserved land specified in Part 5 of Schedule 1 to this proclamation, being an area of land at North Motton reserved in the class of conservation area*, to be reserved land in the class of nature reserve and give the name Sith Cala Nature Reserve to that reserved land; and (f) that this proclamation takes effect on the day on which its making is notified in the Gazette. *Note: The area of land at North Motton was acquired by the Governor in 2001 for a conservation purpose within the meaning of the National Parks and Wildlife Act 1970. On 16 May 2001 the title to the area of land was registered in the name of the Crown and the area of land became a conservation area under that Act by virtue of section 14C(2) of that Act. On the commencement of the Nature Conservation Act 2002 , the area of land was taken to be reserved land in the class of conservation area under that Act.
