Local Government (Number of Councillors) Order 2014
I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council and on the recommendation of the Minister, make the following order under sections 214E(1)(m) and 25(4) of the Local Government Act 1993 .

PART 1 - Preliminary
1. Short title This order may be cited as the Local Government (Number of Councillors) Order 2014 .
2. Commencement This order takes effect on the day on which its making is notified in the Gazette.
3. Interpretation (1) The Acts Interpretation Act 1931 applies to the interpretation of this order as if it were by-laws. (2) A word or expression used in this order and in the Local Government Act 1993 has the meaning it has in that Act.
PART 2 - Number of Councillors
4. Number of councillors for Derwent Valley municipal area The total number of persons to be elected as councillors of the municipal area of Derwent Valley is 8 on and after the day on which the certificate of election is issued in respect of the next ordinary election of councillors for that municipal area that is held after this order takes effect.
5. Number of councillors for Southern Midlands municipal area The total number of persons to be elected as councillors in the municipal area of Southern Midlands is 7 on and after the day on which the certificate of election is issued in respect of the next ordinary election of councillors for that municipal area that is held after this order takes effect.
6. Number of councillors for Waratah-Wynyard municipal area The total number of persons to be elected as councillors in the municipal area of Waratah-Wynyard is 8 on and after the day on which the certificate of election is issued in respect of the next ordinary election of councillors for that municipal area that is held after this order takes effect.
