Local Government (Glenorchy City Council Election) Order 2018
I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council and on the recommendation of the Minister, make the following order under sections 46(2C) and 268A(1A) of the Local Government Act 1993 .

1. Short title This order may be cited as the Local Government (Glenorchy City Council Election) Order 2018 .
2. Commencement This order takes effect on the day on which its making is notified in the Gazette.
3. Interpretation The Acts Interpretation Act 1931 applies to the interpretation of this order as if the order were by-laws.
4. Postponement of 2022 election of Glenorchy City Council The ordinary election in respect of the Glenorchy City Council that, but for this order, would be due to be held in January 2022 is postponed.
5. Closing day in respect of postponed ordinary election The closing day of the ordinary election in respect of the Glenorchy City Council following its postponement by clause 4 is the last Tuesday in October 2022.
6. Term of office of councillors following 2018 election A councillor elected at the election following the dismissal of all councillors, and in respect of which the closing day was 16 January 2018, is elected for, and holds office for, the period commencing on the date of issue of the certificate of election in respect of that election until the date of issue of the next certificate of election in respect of the ordinary election for that office specified in clause 5 .
