Proclamation under the Roads and Jetties Act 1935
I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, by this my proclamation made under section 7 of the Roads and Jetties Act 1935 –
(a) declare the portions of roads specified in Schedule 1 to this proclamation to be a single subsidiary road, classified as a main road, for the purposes of Part II of that Act; and (b) amend the proclamation notified in the Gazette as Statutory Rules 1970, No. 67 by inserting into Part I of the Second Schedule to that proclamation, in the correct alphabetical position, the following item: 2.18 Bathurst/ Wellington Couplet The specified portions of the following roads: (a) Bathurst Street, from its intersection with the Midland Highway to its intersection with Lower Charles Street (1.61 kms) (b) Lower Charles Street, from its intersection with Bathurst Street and Wellington Street to the southern abutment of the Charles Street Bridge (0.286 kms) (c) Wellington Street, from its intersection with Lower Charles Street to its intersection with the Midland Highway (1.61 kms) (3.506 kilometres)
(c) declare that this proclamation takes effect on the day on which its making is notified in the Gazette. 17 December 2019
