Appropriation Act (No. 2) 2024
An Act for the appropriation of $53 235 000 out of the Public Account for the services of the Government in respect of Parliament and Statutory Offices for the financial year ending on 30 June 2025 [Royal Assent 1 November 2024]
Be it enacted by Her Excellency the Governor of Tasmania, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and House of Assembly, in Parliament assembled, as follows:
1. Short title This Act may be cited as the Appropriation Act (No. 2) 2024 .
2. Commencement This Act is taken to have commenced on 1 July 2024.
3. Interpretation For the purposes of this Act – Capital Services means – (a) public works or property required for public purposes; or (b) a loan authorised by law; Operating Services means the ordinary annual services of the Government.
4. Issue, application and appropriation of $53 235 000 (1) In respect of the financial year ending on 30 June 2025, the Treasurer may – (a) issue the sum of $53 235 000 out of the Public Account; and (b) apply that sum for the services of the Government. (2) The sum specified in subsection (1)(a) is appropriated.
5. Purposes of appropriation The sum specified in section 4(1)(a) is to be applied for the purposes specified in Schedule 1 and detailed in the agency information in support of the estimates for the financial year ending on 30 June 2025.
6. Expiry of Act This Act expires on 30 June 2026.
