1. Citation These regulations are the Western Australian Aged Sailors, Soldiers and Airmen's Relief Fund Regulations 2009.

2. Commencement These regulations come into operation as follows — (a) regulations 1 and 2 — on the day on which these regulations are published in the Gazette; (b) the rest of the regulations — on the day after that day.

3. Terms used In these regulations — assistance means the application of moneys held in the Fund for the benefit of an eligible person; eligible person means a person for whose benefit moneys may be applied under section 5 of the Act.

4. Application for assistance (1) An eligible person may apply to the Trust for assistance. (2) An application — (a) is to be made in writing; and (b) must set out — (i) what assistance is sought by the applicant; and (ii) the grounds on which it is sought. (3) An applicant must provide the Trust with any additional information or document that the Trust asks for. (4) The Trust may make any inquiries it thinks fit for the purpose of determining an application.

5. Provision of assistance (1) The Trust may provide, or refuse to provide, assistance to an applicant as it thinks fit. (2) The amount of assistance, and the form or manner in which it is provided, is to be determined by the Trust. (3) The Trust may provide assistance subject to any conditions it thinks fit.
