1. Short title This Act may be cited as the Fluoridation of Public Water Supplies Act 1966 1.

2. Commencement This Act shall come into operation on a date to be fixed by proclamation 1.

3. Application of Act to Crown This Act binds the Crown.

4. Terms used In this Act, unless the contrary intention appears — Chief Health Officer has the meaning given in the Public Health Act 2016 section 4(1); Committee means the Fluoridation of Public Water Supplies Advisory Committee established under this Act; fluorine includes any compound of fluorine; member means member of the Committee and includes a duly appointed acting member of the Committee; public water supply means a water supply used for supplying water to the public; water supply authority means any party who or which supplies water to the public.
