Section 180A of the Migration Act was renumbered as s 501 by the Migration Legislation Amendment Act 1994
That provision was introduced by s 3 of, and item 23 of Sch 1 to, the Migration Legislation Amendment (Strengthening of Provisions relating to Character and Conduct) Act 1998
