AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE
For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive (AD) AD/RB211/19 Amdt 5 and issues the following AD under subregulation 39.1 (1) of CASR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

Combustion Liner 4/2004
Applicability: RB211 engines as detailed in Rolls Royce Alert Service Bulletin (ASB) RB.211-72- AB482 Revision 9 dated 28 July 2003.
Requirement: 1. To detect evidence of combustion liner head section distress which could result in a break-out of combustion, carry out an inspection of the combustion liner in accordance with:
(a) Rolls Royce ASB RB.211-72-AB482 Revision 9, or
(b) As detailed in an inspection procedure approved by CASA in accordance with Civil Aviation Regulation 2A, (4).
2. Incorporate modifications as detailed in Rolls-Royce SB RB211-72-9670 or RB211-72-9764.
Incorporation of the modifications referred to in Requirement 2 of this Directive constitutes terminating action for this Directive.

2. At the next shop visit when the 04 module is refurbished or overhauled, but no later than 31 December 2012.
