Requirement: ROLLS ROYCE S.B. Sp 72-997. Compliance: At next engine overhaul or when the engine is disassembled sufficiently to allow access to the primary air scoops. Background: Rolls Royce advise there has been as incident where a primary air scoop failure resulted in flame penetration of the engine major casings and the engine cowling. This Directive requires compliance with Rolls Royce S.B. Sp 72-997 which details an improved standard of primary air scoop overhaul.
