Governor Relief Valve Spring - Inspection 9/83
Applicability: All SIAI-Marchetti F260, F260B and F260C models equipped with the following propeller governors;
HARTZELL SIAI EQUIVALENT F4-4A 260-13-272-01 F4-4A (Reset into FA-11) 260-23-272-05 F4-112 260-13-272-03 F6-15A 260-13-272-07 F4-4A 260-13-272-09

Compliance: For those governors with a relief valve body which has a rectangular port, by 31 July 1983 and every maintenance release inspection thereafter. For those governors with a relief valve body which has a round port, by 31st July 1983 and every 500 hours time in service thereafter.
Background: 1. The manufacturer advises instances of spring P/No. A3107 breakage. Breakage of this spring can cause lowering of governor oil pressure and a harmful "overspeed" of the propeller.
2. This AD has been reprinted to correct a typographical error under applicability for Hartzell FA-112, SIAI equivalent should read 260-13-272-03.
