Fairchild (Swearingen) SA226 and SA227 Series Aeroplanes
AD/SWSA226/77 Engine Power Control Cable 5/96
Applicability: SA226-T, SA226-T(B), SA226-AT, SA226-TC, SA227-TT, SA227-AT, SA227-AC, SA227-BC, SA227-CC, and SA227-DC.
Requirement: Action in accordance with the following Fairchild Service Bulletins as applicable: a. 226-76-009, b. 227-76-004, or
c. CC7-76-001.
Note: FAA AD 96-03-03 refers.
Compliance: Within 100 hours time in service after 25 April 1996.
Background: There have been reports of cable attaching hardware failing, one failure of which resulted in engine shut down. This Directive is intended to preclude such a failure.
