COMMONWEALTH OF AUSTRALIA (Civil Aviation Safety Regulations 1998), PART 39 - 105 CIVIL AVIATION SAFETY AUTHORITY SCHEDULE OF AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES
AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.1 (1) of CASR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.
Eagle X-TS Series Aeroplanes
AD/X-TS/6 Main Undercarriage Attach Bracket 10/2004 TX
Applicability: All Model X-TS, X-TS 150, and 150B aircraft.
Requirement: Inspect in accordance with Eagle Aircraft Service Bulletin 1123 original issue, or later revision approved by Malaysia DCA.
If adjoining plates on the undercarriage attach bracket are not welded, before further flight, replace the attach bracket.
Note: Malaysia DCA CAM AD 001-08-2004 refers.
Compliance: Before further flight after 18 August 2004.
This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 18 August 2004.
Background: A report was received of cracking on a main undercarriage attach bracket; discovered during a routine 100 hourly inspection. Investigation revealed the cracking was initiated by a high stress concentration, which resulted from a missing weld on adjoining plates on the undercarriage attach bracket.
