AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE
For the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below issues the following Airworthiness Directive (AD) under subregulation 39.1 (1) of CAR 1998. The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.
AD/CL-600/46 Main Windshield Fasteners 13/2001
Applicability: Model CL-600-2B19 aircraft, serial numbers 7003 and subsequent, which are equipped with windshield part numbers 601R33033-1, -2, -5, -6, -9, and -10, and which have accumulated less than 2,500 flight cycles.
Requirement: Accomplish the following in accordance with the Accomplishment Instructions of Bombardier Service Bulletin 601R-56-004, dated 16 August 2001.
1. Inspect the aft edge of the left and right main windshields to determine whether part number CSB-NP-139321-002-1 placard is installed.
For windshields equipped with this placard, no further action is required.
2. Any windshield not equipped with a placard per Requirement 1 must be modified by replacing nine of the existing hi-lok pins installed in the lower forward corner of the windshield, with reduced shank diameter hi-lok pins.
