Matter No IRC 2439 of 2005
MEDIA, ENTERTAINMENT AND ARTS ALLIANCE & PARLIAMENT OF NEW SOUTH WALES
Application by Media, Entertainment and Arts Alliance New South Wales for a new award
Decision [2005] NSWIRComm 172
1 This is an application for the making of a new award, the Parliamentary Reporting Staff (Salaries 2004) Award. 2 The hearing of the application was adjourned, to enable the applicant union to file an affidavit supporting the application, in compliance with the Commission's Practice Direction Number 6. An affidavit sworn by Mark Anthony Ryan, the Assistant Federal Secretary of the Media Entertainment and Arts Alliance on 23 May 2005 was later filed. 3 The new award came forward by consent of the parties, they submitting that it complied with the requirements of the Industrial Relations Act 1996 and the Commission's applicable principles. 4 Having considered the terms of the application, the supporting affidavit and the submissions of the parties, I am satisfied that the requirements of the Act and the applicable principles are satisfied and that it is accordingly appropriate that the Commission's discretion to make a new award in the agreed terms be exercised. 5 For those reasons, I make the award in terms of the application. It will take effect from 13 May 2005. ------------------------
