This Act may be cited as the Police Powers and Responsibilities Amendment Act 1998. Act amended 2. This Act amends the Police Powers and Responsibilities Act 1997. Amendment of s 35 (Arrest without warrant) 3. Section 35— insert— '(4) Despite subsection (3), but subject to the Juvenile Justice Act 1992, section 20,! a police officer may— (a) arrest a child under a provision of another Act authorising the arrest of a person without warrant; or (b) ifthe police officer reasonably suspects a child has committed or is committing an offence against section 120 or the Traffic Act 1949—arrest the child, without warrant.'. © State of Queensland 1998 1 Section 20 (Arrest and ex officio indictment power preserved) 11 13 1518
