Defamation Order 2010 I make the following order under section 35(3) of the Defamation Act 2005 . 23 June 2010 LARA GIDDINGS Minister for Justice 1. Short title This order may be cited as the Defamation Order 2010 . 2. Commencement This order takes effect on 1 July 2010. 3. Interpretation In this order – Act means the Defamation Act 2005 ; maximum damages amount has the same meaning as in section 35(1) of the Act. 4. Maximum damages amount For the purposes of section 35(1) of the Act, the maximum damages amount that is to apply from 1 July 2010 is declared to be $311 000.
