Defamation Order 2018 I make the following order under section 35(3) of the Defamation Act 2005 . 17 May 2018 ELISE ARCHER Minister for Justice 1. Short title This order may be cited as the Defamation Order 2018 . 2. Commencement This order takes effect on 1 July 2018. 3. Maximum damages amount For the purposes of section 35(1) of the Defamation Act 2005 , the maximum damages amount that is to apply from 1 July 2018 is declared to be $398 500.
